What is Maifan Stone Cookware?

Maifan stone cookware is made from maifanite. It’s a stone that is commonly found in the Asian region.

Usually, Maifan stone cookware is made of other good heat-conducting metals such as cast aluminum, cast iron, or stainless steel as their core and coating of Maifan stones.

In most instances, the coating is on the interior and exterior. Additionally, the layer is a natural non-stick coating.

Maifan stone cookware is versatile and can be used on various heat sources such as gas stoves and induction tops. Additionally, Maifan stone cookware is durable and strong; it lasts longer and is not prone to rust.

However, Maifan stone-coated cookware takes longer to heat but retains heat for long. The heat distribution is also on point: even heat distribution. For that reason, this cookware is suitable for slow cooking.

What attracts most people to Maifan stone cookware is its safety and health benefits. Maifan stone coating doesn’t emit dangerous fumes like most non-stick coatings.

In addition, Maifan stone contains micronutrients and minerals that are essential in your body.

Lastly, Maifan stone cookware tends to retain the natural taste of food and its quality.

What is Granite Cookware?

Granite cookware is a type of enamelware. Most of it is made of carbon steel, stainless steel or aluminum alloy core, and porcelain enamel layer.

But it’s called granite cookware?!

Well, most of the granite cookware resembles granite but doesn’t contain granite. Granite cookware is one of the oldest types of kitchenware.

Granite cookware is considered much safer for cooking than most other cookware despite its acidity levels. Additionally, its coating is non-stick, but it may contain polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in the coating.

Nevertheless, health experts recommend that your heat shouldn’t surpass 350 degrees F while using cookware containing PTFE. Also, you have to be careful since it can chip off and mix with your food.

Like most cookware with a non-stick coating, granite cookware doesn’t attract rusting. Also, it easily conducts heat.

Differences between Granite and Maifan Stone Cookware

While this cookware tends to share some similarities, they still have significant differences based on the following aspects:

Performance

Performance is one of the critical aspects almost every customer considers while selecting cookware.

Granite and Maifan Stone Cookware have non-sticks coats; therefore, both don’t stick foods while cooking. Additionally, that makes it easy to clean both.

A significant difference is in their heat conduction and retention. Maifan stone cookware conducts heat slowly but retains heat for long while granite cookware conducts heat pretty quickly but retains it for a shorter period.

Safety

Granite cookware has a non-stick that may contain toxic chemicals such as PTFE. However, some of them are PTFE-free.

On the other hand, Maifan stone cookware has a natural non-stick coating and is free of toxins even when exposed to heat.

Durability

Granite cookware doesn’t easily get rust. However, if mishandled or dropped on a hard surface, the coating can easily chip off. Also, prolonged exposure to heat will easily cause damage to the coating.

In contrast, Maifan stone cookware is stronger than granite cookware; thus, it has enhanced durability. If you maintain it properly, it can easily last for a long.

Granite vs. Maifan Stone Cookware: Which one Should I Choose?

Both of this cookware are great selections. If you want cookware that heats faster and it’s relatively cheaper, granite cookware is the way to go. Nevertheless, ensure you get one that is PTFE-free.

However, if you’re looking for safe cookware on high heat, minimal health risks, and retains heat for long, Maifan stone cookware is a viable choice.
