What Do You Need to Make Grilled Green Beans?

Below is a list of everything you need to make grilled green beans in foil packets:

  • Fresh green beans
  • Garlic powder or fresh diced garlic cloves
  • Salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Herbs (your favorite)
  • Grounded black pepper
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil
  • An electric indoor grill

How to Grill Green Beans

Grilling green beans in aluminum foil is pretty straightforward. Below is a step-by-step process of cooking green beans on an electric grill.

A. Prepare your green beans

First, you need to prepare your green beans by cleaning them with fresh water.

Then cut the stems (top) and the sharp end (tail) on the green beans on a chopping board.

If you have fresh garlic, cut it into small dice.

B. Preheat your electric grill

Before making foil packets for green beans, you may switch on your indoor electric grill to preheat for about 10 minutes.

Ensure you attain a temperature of about 350 degrees F before you start cooking the grill.

C. Make foil packets

Cut an aluminum foil piece that is about 12-15 inches long. Lay it on a flat surface. If you have lots of green beans, you’ll have to make many foil packets. Additionally, you may opt to make packets with two layers of aluminum foil.

Then place your green beans on the center of the foil pieces. Finally, add extra virgin oil to the beans.

Also, add garlic powder, grounded pepper, salt, and herbs to green beans.

The next step entails folding the foil to make pockets. Bring both long sides of the foil to the center, followed by the other two sides. You’ll end up with a foil pack holding your green beans and ready to start grilling.

D. Cook the green beans in a foil packet over a preheated electric grill

Once you have your foil packets ready and preheated grill, it’s time to cook.

Place your foil pocket(s) on the grill to cook for about 15-20 minutes over medium heat. However, you should flip the foil packets from time to time (after 5 minutes) to ensure both sides cook evenly.

E. Remove and serve

Once you check your grilled green beans and notice they’re tender, it means they’re cooked. Therefore, you should remove the foil packet from the grill.

Let the packet rest for about 2 minutes. Then carefully open it and allow steam to evaporate. Lastly, serve.
