This recipe details how to make smoked pork spare ribs using a Traeger grill. It involves seasoning the ribs with Traeger Pork & Poultry Rub, smoking them with apple wood pellets at 250°F for 3 to 4 hours, spraying them with apple juice every hour, and finishing with Traeger BBQ sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks (6 lb) pork spare ribs, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons Traeger Pork & Poultry Rub
  • 1 cup apple juice, cider, or beer
  • 16 ounces Traeger BBQ Sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Grill: Set the Traeger temperature to 250°F and preheat with the lid closed for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Ribs: Remove the silver-skin on the back of the ribs and trim excess fat.
  3. Season the Ribs: Apply Traeger Pork & Poultry Rub on all sides.
  4. Smoke the Ribs: Place the ribs bone-side down on the grill. Cook for 3 to 4 hours, spraying with apple juice every hour.
  5. Check Temperature: After 2 hours, start checking the internal temperature. Aim for 203°F.
  6. Add BBQ Sauce: When the ribs reach 203°F, brush with Traeger BBQ Sauce. Cook for an additional 30 to 60 minutes.
  7. Serve: Cut the ribs into portions and serve with extra BBQ sauce.
