What Ingredients do You Need?

Below are the ingredients you need to make grilled pineapple pork chops:

  1. Pork chops
  2. Pineapple rings
  3. Brown sugar
  4. Pineapple juice/ Pineapple syrup
  5. Ginger powder
  6. Garlic powder
  7. Grounded black pepper

Preparation/ Directions to Make Pineapple Juice

Make the marinade

The first step is to make a marinade.

Get a clean bow and your pineapple syrup/ juice in a different bowl. Also, add brown sugar, black pepper, garlic, and ginger powder to this bowl. Mix everything till you get an excellent marinade. Also, ensure all the sugar dissolves.

Marinate the pork chops

Place the marinade in a plastic zipper bag. Then add your pork chops in the same zipper bag. Ensure the marinade covers all the pork chops.

Now, refrigerate the bag for a few hours (at least 4 hours) or overnight. Also, leave your pineapple rings in a bowl as they drain their juices.

Preheat your electric grill

Now, it’s time to preheat your electric grills. It prevents pork chops from sticking to the cooking surface and creates nice and clean grill marks on the pork chops and pineapples.

Grill the pork chops

Remove the pork chops from the zipper bag and let the excess marinade flow off.

Then place the pork chops on the preheated electric grill for cooking. Ensure you adjust your grill to medium heat.

Grill the pork chops for about 5 to 8 minutes on each side. Generally, your pork chops should have a nice brown charring, clean grill marks, and the interior should not be pink. Additionally, you should attain an internal temperature of about 145 degrees F.

Also, place your drained pineapple rings on the same grill for cooking. Once they’re warm and have attained slight grill marks, you may remove them from the grill.

Serve

Fold the pork chops with aluminum foil and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving with the pineapple rings.

Tips for Making Grilled Pineapple Pork Chops

  • Consider thick-cut, bone-in pork chops for grilled pork chops. They are not likely to dry out as boneless chops do. Ensure the pork chop has a thickness of about ¾ to 1 inch.
  • Once you’ve removed your marinated pork chops from the fridge, allow them to come to room temperature before grilling. This process takes about 20-30 minutes.
  • Always ensure your meat attains an internal temperature of about 145 degrees F before removing it from the grill. Use a good meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature while grilling.
  • Avoid poking the pork chop while grilling. It can easily lead to drying out the meat.

Remember, the grill you’re using affects your grilling experience. Therefore, get yourself a quality electric grill that you use. The Atgrills electric grill is versatile, has a non-stick cooking surface, and heats up quickly. Additionally, it offers even heat distribution, and you can easily control the temperature.
