The entire process starts with grating or shredding potatoes into a bowl. Then place the grated potatoes on paper towels, muslin cloth, or cheesecloth and squeeze out any excess water.

The next step is to preheat your electric griddle over medium-high heat for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then drizzle some olive oil or add butter to the griddle.

Medium-high heat is the most ideal for cooking hash browns on an electric griddle. The electric griddle’s temperature should be at 375 degrees F.
The best way to ensure your hash brown doesn’t stick together is by properly draining all the water from the potatoes after grating.
You can also brown hash browns until they are crispy by using more heat and less oil. The other alternative is adding cheese to help in binding together your hash browns.
